Dr. Charles Lohr, with long-term support from the equally dedicated Mrs. Lohr, has been a positive presence as a Spokane veterinary provider since 1974. Opening his second veterinary clinic, A-1 Animal Care Veterinary Services, in 1993 in the Spokane Valley, his practice remains very much a family operated business.

Their love of pets and commitment to the compassionate care and wellness of Spokane, Airway Heights, Deer Park, and Rathdrum area dogs and cats is legendary. Dr. and Mrs. Lohr love their patients and their continuing contribution to their community.  A veterinarian with the combination of expertise and compassion of Dr. Lohr is rare, but wonderful.

Providing Years of Service to Keep Pets Healthy and Happy

Clinic support is always critical to successful pet care. A-1 has the high level support necessary to achieve and maintain superior care. Shauna Wink, LVT is our newest staff member and brings her years of training and experience to our veterinary team. Shauna has been in the veterinary field since 1998 starting out as a volunteer while still in high school. Over the years, her work at many clinics grew into a love for the technician aspect of the field and she became licensed in 2005.

Since her husband is a member of the Air Force, Shauna has had the chance to see a lot of  the country and has become licensed in Oregon and Montana. Currently, she is pursuing a management degree with a goal of one day being able to manage a veterinary hospital. When not at work or school, Shauna enjoys spending her free time with her husband and step-daughter, preferably in the mountains. They live outside of Cheney with their Blue Heeler, Maverick and Lilac Point Siamese, Rodney.
